Asian & Pacific Islander identity encompasses a wide array of people, cultures, and histories.  We recognize and celebrate this diversity.

API Heritage Month

We celebrate our identities year round, but especially during May, Asian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month.  In 2022, our celebrations included:

  • API Book Drive with GNCA and the Nashville Chinese School

  • Third Thursday Happy Hour

  • Asian and Pacific Islander Night with Nashville SC

  • Heritage Month Writers' Rounds with Shoes Off Nashville

  • APIHM Arts Festival

Food is many things. Food is history. Food is culture. Food is a bridge. MORE THAN A MENU wants to connect the foods we all love to the people and stories behind them.

MORE THAN A MENU is our campaign highlighting API-owned restaurants, pop ups and cultural events in Middle Tennessee and beyond.

API Book Drive

In May 2022, we partnered with the Greater Nashville Chinese Association and the Nashville Chinese School to bring Asian and Pacific Islander authored and illustrated books to students in Nashville and Williamson County.  Together, we collected over 150 books and raised over $14,000 for school librarians to purchase API books.  Check back in April for our 2023 Book Drive!
