Joseph was born in Long Beach, California and is the proud son of Filipino immigrants.  After graduating from UCLA in 2009, joseph moved to South Korea to teach English as a second language.  He met his wife there and followed her to Nashville, Tennessee in 2014.  Joseph worked for different nonprofit organizations and eventually graduated from Vanderbilt in 2017 with a masters degree in Community Development.

Joseph helped start API Middle Tennessee in 2019 after a set of community conversations he was having with the Asian and Pacific Islander community and has served as its executive director since then.  Additionally, joseph works as the Dan & Margaret Maddox Fund and manages their youth grant portfolio.  When he's not working, joseph can be found biking around Nashville, trying new restaurants with his wife, or hanging out with his dog, Donut.
