We are grateful for all the API community members and allies that were able to join us for the Nashville Predators' first API Night! It was exciting to see so many Asian and Pacific Islanders at the arena and our local heroes featured on the jumbotron!

Here are some people that were featured during the game:

  • Special Guest James Kyson

  • Terry Vo as the Mayor of Smashville

  • Jerrica Alyssa performing the national anthems

  • Andrei performing during intermission

  • Armi Rhodes, Retired Army Nurse, Hero of the Match

Below are some photos from the night.

Make sure to join us at the next one!

EDITED: 1/24/2023 - 6:00 PM: Our hearts go out to the victims of the Half Moon Bay Shooting. With these two tragic events being so close to each other and knowing so many members of our community here in Tennessee are from or have ties to California, we hope that you take care of yourselves. The resources below have been updated.

For many Asian communities in the United States and around the world, Lunar New Year is the most important and joyful holiday of the year. It is a time to celebrate unity and togetherness with family and friends. With heavy hearts, we stand in solidarity with those impacted by the Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay shootings.

As an organization serving Asian and Pacific Islanders, we are disheartened by the continued violence against and in our community and with the lack of response from our elected officials. While we continue to advocate and fight for our safety, we know that true healing is impossible without addressing the issues of gun violence and the lack of resources directed to Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities.

If you would like to support the families of the victims, please donate here:

If you are in need of help or want to find other ways to support the community, check out this list here:

We will continue to keep this list updated as fundraisers and resources become available.

On behalf of API Middle Tennessee,

Joseph Gutierrez

Executive Director
